Highlights of the 2011 Fest

* Over 300 people attended the Festival's 10th birthday party on the opening night, with chocolate lighthouse cake and sparkling wine for everyone.
*    Lionel Shriver's Q&A screening of We Need to Talk About Kevin completely sold out.
*    Both Q&A screenings of the Cornish-made features Happy Christmas and Weekend Retreat drew big crowds and rave reviews.
*    The Fighter's Ballad, starring Newquay native Peter Cadwell, who also wrote the script, was not only well-received, it got a special mentionby Eddie Mair on Radio 4's PM a few nights before.
*    This year's Delabole Slate Golden Chough award for the film that best represented the spirit of the Festival was won by Weekend Retreat.
* A programme of short films made by young people showcased emerging talent in Cornwall to a busy auditorium, garnering an enthusiastic response and universally positive feedback from the audience.
*    Nearly all of the attendees surveyed thought the 2011 Festival was 'the best ever' and that they would come back again.
