The winners of the Delabole Slate Audience Award, and Delabole Slate Award for Best Student Film were presented with their well-deserved prizes by George and Thessellie Hamilton of the North Cornwall firm at a ceremony on the last night of the Festival on Sunday 11th November.

Both winners were decided on the basis of an audience vote,  with viewers choosing between a shortlist shown in the  Cornish Shorts in Competition and Cornish Student Shorts in Competition screenings, which took place at the Princess Pavilion over the Festival weekend.


The Audience Award for Best Film went to Jane Pugh and Ornette Spencely for their film "Friday Night". The film can be viewed online here. The two runners-up were "In the Name of Love", directed by Sumit Batheja, and "It's Not My Fault", directed by Andrew Gillman.


The award for Best Student Film went to "The Resurrectionist", directed and written by David Roden. The runners-up were "Hand Island", directed and written by Ash Parker, and "The Big Cheat", directed by Christopher Wasey.
